After 60 years of brewing great beer in this wonderful community, it is time for a party.
Pacific Western Brewing’s milestone anniversary will be celebrated throughout 2017 starting with a 60th Anniversary Party featuring Trooper, April Wine and PG’s very own Audio Union on August 12th.
The concert celebration is a 19-plus outdoor event at the brewery. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with fireworks at 11 p.m. Tickets will be on sale to the public on Friday April 7th at: All four Prince George Save-On-Foods locations, Tourism Prince George, PWB’s brewery office and online at Cariboobrewing.com.
Earlier on August 12th, PWB will host our Annual Open House from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is an all ages, family friendly, free public event.
Pacific Western Brewing is proud to have reached the milestone of 60 years of quality commercial brewing in Prince George. Please make plans to join the PWB team as we celebrate with our hometown friends and neighbours — Kazuko Komatsu, President & CEO
In this anniversary year PWB is reaffirming its commitment to plant one million trees by 2020. This program began in 2010 with support from the Cariboo family of beers to mitigate the devastating impacts of wildfires and the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation. PWB is also committed to further supporting and sponsoring more local events, organizations and charities in Prince George and across the province as we celebrate our diamond anniversary.
PWB’s sales and marketing leader in Prince George, Kyle Sampson, says: “Our brewery at 641 N. Nechako Rd. will be a busy location with PWB’s 60th Anniversary Party and Annual Open House. The Open House is an opportunity for the public to learn about the brewing process, taste our wide variety of products, enjoy a free BBQ lunch and take in the entertainment and activities on site. This free public event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“There will also be an opportunity to meet PWB’s Kazuko Komatsu who celebrated 25 years of brewery ownership in 2016.”
Last year’s concert featuring Honeymoon Suite was sold out. This year’s triple-bill concert starts at 5:30 p.m. with Audio Union, and concludes with celebratory fireworks at 11. There will be a BBQ dinner supplied by Save-On-Foods at a $5 cost with all proceeds going to the BC Children’s Hospital, and a $5 bar featuring PWB products.
Tickets are $40 and proceeds will go towards Pacific Western Brewing Foundation’s reforestation efforts.
“Over the past 25 years Kazuko and her team have achieved a number of firsts: The first Malt Liquor in Canada, first Canned Beer in BC, the first Dry Beer in Canada, the first Lager and Lime Beer, the first Organic Beer in Canada, the first Brewery with Quality Standard ISO 9001 in North America, and many more firsts,” Kyle says.
“This groundbreaking, quality focused track record explains what makes Pacific Western Brewing so successful. Kazuko, the company’s longest serving owner, is the first Asian-Canadian brewery owner in the country. PWB continues to lead in innovation as it recently developed the first all-BC ingredient beer, and continues to provide a wide selection of products to customers in BC, Alberta, and Japan.
